[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics are set to unveil a host of new gadgets and goodies at a major consumer electronics fair in Berlin next month, according to officials from the respective companies on Aug. 26.

The annual IFA fair, to be held in Berlin from Sept. 2-7, will bring together about 240,000 participants from around the world.

The weeklong exhibition “will offer a great platform for professionals working in the field of consumer electronics and home appliances to exchange knowledge, experience and the latest advancements,” organizers said on the fair’s website.

Samsung has geared up for the launch of its Gear S3 smartwatch during the fair.

Details about the new smartwatch were not disclosed, but an invitation sent by Samsung earlier this month for the launch showed a watch face with the caption “Talk about 3.”

Samsung also plans to display high-end refrigerators connected to other devices via the “Internet of Things” technology.

“We will focus on technologies and products that are compatible with the IoT during the IFA,” a Samsung official said.

LG will show off its new premium home appliances, such as refrigerators and ultra-high-definition televisions during the Berlin fair.
