[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics on Aug. 31 said it will adopt Google’s new search function In Apps to its upcoming premium smartphone V20 that is set to make its global debut on Sept. 7 in Seoul.

The In Apps function is a separate app that allows users to search contents all through the mobile apps, including email, address book, text messages and YouTube.

The app also can be seen in a separate, always-on screen display on top of the main screen -- a signature feature of the V series phone.

The new function comes as part of the partnership between LG and Google. The V20 is also the first smartphone to feature Google’s latest Android operating system Nougat.

LG launched the large-screen V series in October last year, a new premium smartphone lineup together with the flagship G series that usually comes out in the first half of the year.
