CJ CheilJedang introduced N’gredient a specialized cosmetics ingredient brand, signaling its entry into the market at home and abroad, on Nov. 8.
As the brand name indicates, all products form N’gredient are based on naturally derived substances and are made with environment-friendly fermentation and enzyme technologies, said the food and bio arm of CJ Group.
Its product range has two major lines: Active with specific functions such as brightening and sun screening; and Base that improves absorption and application of cosmetics.
“We will further develop effective materials such as moisturizing and bio emulsifying agents and will actively exploit basic ingredient market,” said Im Seok-won of the beauty materials division of the company.
Basic ingredients account for over 80 percent of the 18 trillion won (US$15.77 billion) global cosmetics ingredient market.
