[THE INVESTOR] Mobile game powerhouse Netmarble said on Nov. 8 that its operating profit in the July-September period increased 12.2 percent to 63.6 billion won (US$56 million) from a year earlier. The firm’s quarterly revenue came in at 359.4 billion won, up 27.5 percent during the same period.
Its overseas sales accounted for 56 percent of the entire revenue with its flagship mobile games “Seven Knights”, “Everyone’s Marble” and “Stone Age” gaining popularity among global game enthusiasts.
The “Seven Knights” role-playing game, which ranked top three in terms of sales on Apple’s App Store in Japan in June, saw its global downloads surpass 30 million during the third quarter.
“Netmarble has been focused on tailoring marketing strategies for each nation and region,” said an official from the company, adding that the highly anticipated “Lineage 2 Revolution” will likely drive growth in the last quarter of this year.
