[THE INVESTOR] The owner family of Samsung Group gathered at the Ho-Am Arts Museaum in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, on Nov. 18 to participate in the 29th memorial service for the late founder Lee Byung-chul.

The Samsung founder passed away on Nov. 19, 1987.

Hong Ra-hee, the wife of Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Kun-hee, their only son Jae-yong, and two daughters, Boo-jin and Seo-hyun, took part in the ceremony.

On behalf of the bedridden chairman, Jay-yong, vice chairman of the Korean tech giant, led the memorial service for his grandfather.

Among the participants were Samsung Electronics Vice Chairmen Choi Ji-sung and Kwon Oh-hyun.

Samsung Group use to hold a joint memorial service together with CJ Group and Hansol that were also founded by Lee. But each group has conducted a separate service since 2012 when the owner families of Samsung and CJ were mired in a legal dispute over inheritance.
