THE INVESTOR] KEB Hana Bank announced on Nov. 21 that it has initiated the country’s first text banking service that enables customers can send money or check account information via text messages.
The flagship unit of
Hana Financial Group said text banking allows clients to send up to 3 million won (US$2,532) a day to designated accounts without logging in to a smartphone banking system or dealing with digital certificates.
Users can send money by going through a five-step verification process, which is much easier than existing financial transaction methods which require up to 11 steps for money transfers, the bank said.
Customers can use the service after registering their bank accounts and frequently used transaction accounts.
The bank said the service is based on artificial intelligence and a chat robot.
