Samsung Heavy set to sign offshore facility deal
[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Heavy Industries is in final talks with Norwegian firm to secure an offshore facility deal, industry sources said on Dec. 8,
According to the sources, Samsung Heavy has signed a letter of intent with Hoegh LNG Holdings to build a floating storage regasification unit. It has an option to build three more FSRUs.
If the deal is officially signed, the ordered vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2019 and 2020, they said. The value of the deal was not disclosed, but the sources estimated it at US$800 million in total.
