[THE INVESTOR] Audi unveiled its plan to recall some 2,000 cars sold in South Korea after receiving complaints regarding the vehicles’ air bag control unit, while Mercedes-Benz will recall dozen of cars with glitches in the software program related to seat belts, the Transportation Ministry announced on Dec. 13.
According to the ministry, the defect in the air bag control unit in five Audi models, including the Audi A4 2.0 TFSI Quattro, may cause it not to deploy properly.
The recall affects 1,987 vehicles of five models, which were produced between Aug. 14, 2008, and Aug. 25, 2009.
Three Mercedes-Benz models, including the S63 AMG 4M Coupe, were found to have an error in their software program that may cause the seatbelt not to fasten properly.
The vehicles subject to the recall were produced between Oct. 5, 2015, and March 2 of this year, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, room lights of two Volvo Truck models -- FH84TR3HA and H8TSDC5411 -- can catch fire when they get damp, possibly leading to a short circuit, the transportation ministry said.
The recall affects 302 trucks produced between Dec. 20, 2013, and Sept. 8 of this year, it said.
