Sources attributed the phone’s lukewarm sales to its relatively less premium features.
“The P9’s key features such as camera, memory, processor and display miss expectations of tech-savvy customers here,” an official of a local telecom carrier said on condition of anonymity.
“Most specifications are two to three years behind the latest smartphones of Samsung and LG.”
The P9 debuted in April globally. For the belated Korean launch, Huawei drastically lowered the price to 599,500 won (US$514) for the base model and 699,600 won for the large-screen model, almost half of their European prices.
