[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Securities announced on Dec. 20 that it has decided to increase its capital by 354.4 billion won (US$298.19 million).
This will increase its equity capital from the current 3.8 trillion won over the 4 trillion won standard for extra-large investment banking institutions, joining Mirae Asset Daewoo and NH Investment and Securities, whose assets amount to 6.7 trillion won and 4.5 trillion won, respectively, as of last month.
“Based on the enlarged equity capital, we will scale up to be a giant IB and provide the best asset management service with a variety of products,” said the company.
