[GRAPHIC NEWS] Producer price index hits 14-month high
[THE INVESTOR] With prices of traditionally low-cost consumer goods continuing to rise, the producer price index has surged for the past four months to reach a 14 month high in November, Bank of Korea said on Dec. 20.
PPI measures the average changes in prices received by domestic producers for their output, and is thus considered an early indicator for the consumer price index.
PPI for agricultural and livestock products dropped from the previous month, while the index for marine, industrial and food products all marked in increase.
