SK Group conducts major reshuffle

[THE INVESTOR] SK Group on Dec. 21 carried out a major executive reshuffle, replacing the majority of its top decision makers.

As part of the reshuffle, SK Holdings CEO Cho Dae-sik has been appointed as the new chair of its SUPEX Council, the group’s top decision-making body. Along with its chief, the majority of the council’s committee chairs have been replaced.

As part of the changes, the strategy committee has been newly established and the ethics committee has been disbanded. The strategy committee will be headed by Cho.

The energy and chemicals committee will be headed by SK Innovation CEO Kim Joon, the ICT committee will be led by SK hynix’s Park Sung-wook. The communications committee will be chaired by SK Telecom CEO Park Jung-ho, and the committee for human resource development will be chaired by Seo Jin-woo. Choi Kwang-chul has been picked for the social responsibility committee.

SK E&S chief Yu Jeong-joon will continue as the chief of the global growth committee.

In the reshuffle, Park Sung-wook of SK hynix and SK E&C’s Cho Ki-haeng have been promoted as vice chairmen of the group.

Kim Joon will head both SK Innovation and SK Energy, while Park Jung-ho moves to SK Telecom from SK C&C. SK Holdings and SK C&C will now be headed by a single CEO, Jang Dong-hyun, who until now served as the CEO of SK Telecom.

In addition, five executives have been appointed chief executives -- Park Sang-kyu for SK Networks, Hwang Eui-kyun for SK Shipping, Lee Jae-hoon for SK Gas, Ji Dong-sub for SK Lubricants, and Suh Sung-won for SK Planet.
