[THE INVESTOR] Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction announced on Dec. 22 that it has received an 180 billion won (US$150.63 million) order from Indonesia Power to supply three heat recovery steam generators and one steam turbine.

Doosan has formed a consortium with Indonesian state-owned construction company PT PP and will convert an existing 300-megawatt gas-fired power plant in Grati to a 484-megawatt combined cycle power generation plant by February 2019.

This is the first time Doosan Heavy has bagged an order in the Southeast Asian country in nine years, and the company is hoping for more projects as Indonesia is planning to build more power plants with 35 gigawatt capacity by 2019, said Kim Heon-tak, head of the company’s engineering, procurement and construction business group.
