[GRAPHIC NEWS] Proportion of payment methods
[THE INVESTOR] The Bank of Korea said the most used payment method in 2016 was credit cards which were used for 54.8 percent of payments, followed by debit cards, account transfers and cash.
Credit and debit cards were most frequently used at gas stations (97.9 percent), large retailers and department stores (86.9 percent) and for transportation (82.7 percent). Cash was most used at traditional markets (79.2 percent), hospitals and pharmacies (60.6 percent) and convenient stores (60.2 percent).
