Renault Samsung rolls out executive reshuffle

[THE INVESTOR] Renault Samsung Motors promoted Lee Ki-in, executive managing director in charge of manufacturing, as executive vice president in its annual senior executive reshuffle, the South Korean unit of French carmaker Renault announced on Jan. 3.
 
Lee, 57, served various post within the company since entering the carmaker in 1993. Prior to leading the manufacturing division, he also headed the Renault-Nissan Alliance plant in Chennai, India, in 2012-2013. Under his leadership, Renault Samsung rolled out two popular models SM6 sedan and QM6 SUV last year, fueling the automaker’s sales success.

Last year, the automaker sold 257,345 units both home and abroad, up 12 percent from the previous year. It was carmaker’s second highest annual record in history, followed by selling 271,479 units in 2010. 

Renault Samsung also promoted Choi Sung-kyu as managing director in charge of R&D, and five managers as directors.
