Lotte Shopping’s announcement that it is considering transition to a holding company structure, the possibilities of an initial public offering have grown, said Shinhan Financial Investment on Jan. 20.
The securities firm upgraded its rating to a “buy” from a “trading buy” and raised the target price to 270,000 won (US$229.59) from 240,000 won.
Although details are yet to be released, the group has continuously expressed its will to expand listed companies and review cross shareholding among its subsidiaries, said analyst Park Heui-jin.
The expectations for earnings improvement, however, are low, even though its fourth-quarter operating profit last year is estimated to grow 10 percent on-year to 207.9 billion won, said the analyst.
