[GRAPHIC NEWS] S. Korea's Big Mac Index ranking drops to No. 25

[THE INVESTOR] The Big Mac Index for South Korea, which indicates purchasing power parity between the US dollar and local currency, fell two notches to No. 25, the global index showed on Jan. 23.

According to the Economist, the average price of McDonald’s Big Mac hamburger was $3.68 in South Korea as of January 2017, marking the 25th-highest among 57 countries surveyed.

A Big Mac sold in the US at an average of $5.06, indicating the South Korean won was undervalued by 27.3 percent, it noted.
