[THE INVESTOR] A recent survey by the Seoul Foundation of Women and Family showed on Jan. 24 that a majority of married women with children here wish to have at least two children, but they stop short of having more due to economic and social burdens.

Eighty-six percent of women with one child wished to have at least two kids, while 25 percent of those with two or more children desired to have at least three.

Thirty-nine percent cited the burden of expenses in raising children as a factor in delaying their plans to have more children. Some 60 percent of women who were not economically active said they were burdened by the cost.
