[THE INVESTOR] Burger King Korea will raise the price of eight items including Whopper burgers, the company announced on Feb. 10.
The price of steak burger products will rise by 300 won, while that of Whoppers will be raised by 200 won, and other burgers by 100 won. The decision has been made due to the rise of miscellaneous expenses, the company said.
“We inevitably made the decision in more than two years,” the company said. “It is to keep providing good quality of foods and services to our customers despite external factors.”
Its rival McDonald’s Korea previously raised the price of 12 menus by up to 400 won in January. Market watchers expect the two fast food chains’ price increase may lead other competitors to do so.
Lotteria, however, said it is not considering price change this time.
