[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Kun-hee’s net worth is higher than those ranked 61 to 100 in the rich list, local daily Herald Business reported on Feb. 14.

According to the paper, Lee’s assets including real estate and unlisted stocks stood at about 14.98 trillion won (US$13.17 billion) on Feb. 10. In comparison, the combined assets of the bottom 40 individuals in the list came to about 14.53 trillion won. 

The report also said that there is a large gap between the assets of the top 20 and the bottom 80 individuals, with the combined assets of the top 20 dwarfing that of the remainder.

According to the report, the combined assets of the top 20 individuals stood at just over 68 trillion won on Feb. 10, while the figure for the bottom 80 came to about 47 trillion won.

A comparison between the combined assets of the top 10 was about 18.5 times higher than that of the bottom 10 individuals.
