[THE INVESTOR] A recent survey on single households in South Korea showed that 7 in 10 were satisfied with living alone. Women living alone were even more satisfied, with 2 in 3 saying they have no plans to get married in the future, the survey by KB Financial Group Research Institute showed.
Over half of the single households were made up by those aged 40 and younger.
Of the total, 42 percent said they had at least two meals a day alone, while 12 percent had pets.
A majority -- or 84.4 percent -- of the respondents said they enjoyed living alone as they could lead a liberal lifestyle and be independent in making decisons.
