[GRAPHIC NEWS] Wage gap grows between regular, irregular workers

[THE INVESTOR] The wage gap between regular and irregular workers peaked last year at 1.89 million won, the Ministry of Employment and Labor said on Feb. 28.

The average monthly wage among regular workers employed at companies with at least five regular employees came at 3.62 million won, up 3.8 percent from 2015.

The wage among temporary workers increased by 3.1 percent to reach 1.47 million won.

The wage gap has been continuously increasing from 1.89 million won in 2012 to 1.92 million in 2013 and 1.99 million won in 2014.

The overall average monthly working hours, meanwhile dropped by 0.9 percent on-year to 171.0 hours.
