[THE INVESTOR] Kumho Tire , Halla Corp., Meritz Securities and Hyundai Dymos have been named among the nation’s 27 least female-friendly workplaces, government data revealed on March 3.
The Ministry of Labor and Employment for the first time announced the list of the firms that have violated the affirmative action act adopted in 2006 to increase female employment and fix discriminatory hiring practices.
The ministry said the listed firms have failed to meet even 70 percent of their sector’s average in hiring female employees over the past three years. Despite the ministry’s verbal warnings, they have made no corrective measures.
The firms include: Gwanghyuk Construction, Toray Chemical Korea, Meritz Securities, Saman Corp., Soulbrain SLD, Soosan ENS, Aerix, eTEC E&C, KISCO Corp., Halla, K-Tec Manpower, Wyverns Safety Management, KTS Global, Joeun Safe, Taekwang Management, Posco M-Tech, Woori Asset Management, Woowon Bangjae, Kumho Tire, Korea Petrochemical, Dongbu Securities, Soongsil University, KEC Corp., Hyundai Dymos and Hyundai Autron and the state-run Korea Paralympic Committee.
