[THE INVESTOR]  Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Mong-koo on March 17 promised shareholders that efforts will be made to make Genesis a dream car brand, while strengthening its operations to face uncertain business environment at home and abroad.

“We will develop the Genesis brand, which debuted three years ago, as a dream car that will bring customers joy and pride, by strengthening the lineup and expanding its overseas market,” Chung said in a business report released ahead of a shareholders meeting held at the automaker’s headquarters in Yangjae-dong, southern Seoul.

“Hyundai Motor will establish the high-performance car lineup in the market to fulfill the customers’ demand for exclusive technology and fun driving experience,” he said.

The auto industry is in the midst of major transition, driven by connectivity, electrification, autonomous driving as well as regulation changes on emissions and fuel efficiency, he said.
“We will respond quickly and flexibly to these transformations in the future car industry and move in advance to achieve a sustainable group-wide growth,” he said.

During the shareholders meeting, Chung was reappointed to the board of directors of Hyundai Motor for another three-year term.
