POSCO, South Korea’s leading steelmaker, said that its specialty steel jointly developed with Exxon Mobil will be supplied for the production of the US based oil company’s slurry pipeline.
POSCO said it has agreed with Exxon to produce and supply high manganese steel that the steel giant developed with the world‘s largest publicly traded oil producer. The high manganese steel will be used to make Exxon’s slurry pipelines, specially made to move oil sands.
Over the past five years, the two have been working to adopt high manganese steel in making slurry pipelines.
