[THE INVESTOR] Hankook Tire said on March 28 that it has expanded its tire supplies to global luxury carmakers.

South Korea‘s leading tire maker signed a deal last year to supply original equipment tires for Mercedes-Benz’s GLC SUV and GLC Coupe, a company spokesman stated.

The Ventus S1 evo2 SUV tire produced at Hankook Tire‘s Hungary plant will be delivered to the German carmaker’s Bremen plant and then be equipped in the two luxury models, he said, adding the announcement was allowed only six months after the contract signing.

Hankook Tire, the world‘s seventh-biggest tiremaker by sales, has provided OE tires for high-end models in global car manufacturers, such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan Motor and Ford Motor.

Hankook Tire produced a total of 99 million tires last year at its seven plants across the world, including two in South Korea, three in China, one in Hungary and one in Indonesia. The eighth plant is still under construction in the southern state of Tennessee in the United States.
