SK hynix regained the No. 3 spot in the global semiconductor market in terms of sales during the fourth quarter of 2016, industry data showed on April 3.
According to the data compiled by industry tracker IHS, SK hynix saw its standing move up by two notches on-quarter in the September-December period with US$4.5 billion in sales.
US based Intel topped the list with $15.5 billion, followed by SK hynix’s bigger rival
Samsung Electronics with $11.7 billion, the data showed.
Qualcomm, on the other hand, moved down a notch over the cited period to fourth place with $4.09 billion in sales. Micron Technology followed next with $4.08 billion, the data also showed.
In terms of market share, Intel accounted for 16 percent, followed by Samsung Electronics with 12.1 percent and SK hynix with 4.7 percent.
