[THE INVESTOR] The average employee at South Korea‘s 10 biggest conglomerates has worked 10 years as of last year, government data showed on April 5.

Hyundai Heavy Industries Group topped the list with 15.7 years. Hyundai Kia Automotive Group came in second with 12.7 years, trailed by Hanwha Group with 12 years, Lotte Group 9.7 years, SK Group 9.4 years, Samsung Group 9.3 years, Doosan Group 9 years, LG Group 8.6 years and GS Group 7.5 years, according to the data released by the Financial Supervisory Service.

Industry sources say good job security at the companies established decades ago prompted the workers to stay longer.
