[THE INVESTOR] Hyundai Motor has launched the Grandeur Hybrid that will add green credentials to its lineup to compete with Japanese rivals, the carmaker said on April 5.

The Grandeur Hybrid is the carmaker’s latest gasoline-hybrid model based on the all-new full-size sedan that is called Azera in overseas markets like the US.

The previous hybrids made by the company were based on the compact Avante, Sonata midsize sedan and an earlier version of the Grandeur sedan. There is also the Ioniq hybrid developed from the bottom up as an eco-friendly vehicle.

“The Grandeur Hybrid model comes at a more compelling price point, higher fuel efficiency, space and refined driving characteristics compared to its rival Lexus’ ES hybrid sedan,” said a company official in a press briefing at the test drive event.
