[THE INVESTOR] Porsche Korea is ratcheting up efforts to speed up delivery of the much-delayed new Panamera sports sedan which is awaiting sales approval, the German carmaker’s local chief said on April 6.

“The delivery of Panamera has been delayed due to the complicated certification process. We are examining details thoroughly and are doing our best to move up the date. It is almost over,” Porsche Korea CEO Michael Kirsch told reporters at the Seoul Motor Show.

Michael Kirsch, CEO of Porsche Korea, poses with the new Panamera at the Seoul Motor Show on March 30.

Earlier last week, Porsche Korea unveiled the second-generation Panamera lineup -- Panamera Turbo, Panamera 4s and Panamera 4 E-Hybrid -- at the biennial motor show.

The Korean unit has been under fire for receiving preorders for its new cars, including Panamera and Cayman, without getting approval from the authorities. Preorder customers have been waiting for delivery since September last year.
