[THE INVESTOR] US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer said on April 26 it has promoted five executives at the Korean unit to manage positions in the Asia-Pacific region.

Pfizer Korea Vice President Kim Sun-A has been promoted to Marketing Lead of Pfizer Essential Health’s Asia Pacific region from May 1.

Along with her, four other Korean employees – Jung Hyun Suk, Kim Yoo Sup, Choi Jung Hwa and Hwang Ji Hyun – were promoted to positions that manage markets in countries such as Japan, Hong Kong, India and Singapore.

The Korean unit said the latest promotions are meaningful since they prove the head office is recognizing solid performance of Korean staff.

“The promotion of many employees to global positions is a significant achievement for both staff and the company,” said Oh Dong-kwoo, Pfizer’s Korean chief, in a statement.

“We will continue to support our workers to develop their career and demonstrate their leadership in the global market.”
