[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Electronics is expected to announce its long-delayed reshuffle of top executives this month, local daily Metro reported on May 22.

“The delayed reshuffle has prompted complaints by executives,” an industry source was quoted as saying in the report. “Some of them seem to have received job offers from other companies.”

Samsung promoted 96 executives in two rounds of executive reshuffles early this month. The company also announced it would set up a separate foundry business unit, which used to operate under its chip division, to focus on manufacturing chips for outside clients.

The Korean tech giant usually conducts executive reshuffles in December. But last year’s shake-up was delayed until this month amid the ongoing probe into the influence-peddling scandal involving former President Park Geun-hye. Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong was imprisoned in February on bribery charges.

A Samsung spokesperson declined to confirm the report.
