[THE INVESTOR] Hyundai Engineering announced on May 31 that it has signed a US$918 million contract with Edra Energy Berhad to build Malaysia’s largest power plant.
It has formed a consortium with Hyundai Engineering and Construction and will build a combined cycle plant with 2,242-megawatt capacity in Melaka, 90 kilometers southeast of Kuala Lumpur in 40 months.
It is currently building a 2,000 megawatt coal power plant in Port Dickson, currently the largest in Malaysia.
