[THE INVESTOR] The number of jobs generated directly or indirectly by exports reached 6.1 million as of 2014, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy using data from the Bank of Korea.
That meant they accounted for 25.9 percent of all the country’s jobs in 2014, up from 22.3 percent in 2000, the ministry said.
The ratio of jobs generated from consumption, in comparison, dropped to 54.9 percent from 59.5 percent during the same period.
