Samsung Heavy signs LoI with SeaOne for W1.68tr deal
[THE INVESTOR] Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries is seeking a 1.68 trillion won (US$1.49 billion) deal with US shipping firm SeaOne, industry sources said on June 8.
The Samsung affiliate recently inked a letter of intent to supply a total of 12 articulated tug barges or ATBs to SeaOne. They plan to sign the deal before November.

If the deal goes smoothly, orders secured by Samsung Heavy will hit US$6.3 billion this year. The shipyard has set its annual order target at US$6.5 billion.
