[THE INVESTOR] Porsche Korea has briefly halted sales of five models in the domestic market for failing to meet the deadline for revised certification.

The German luxury carmaker on June 13 pulled Macan S, Macan Turbo, Cayenne, Cayenne S and Cayenne GTS off the market, in order to receive approval under the new fuel-efficiency system that took effect on May 20. 

“We are currently testing the five vehicles to receive certification under the revised system,” a spokesperson from Porsche Korea told The Investor. “We will resume sales as soon as the testing is completed. It won’t take too long,” she said without giving an exact schedule. 

The Ministry of Transportation announced the new rule in November 2014 and gave 30 months of grace period for carmakers to conduct the new test to comply with the stricter guidelines. Porsche Korea, however, said it didn’t have enough time to complete the tests for all of its vehicles.
