[THE INVESTOR] The pharmaceutical industry has been posting a consistent rise in its recruitment rate, while also showing an above-average ratio of regular workers, statistics showed on June 27.

According to the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-pharma Manufacturers Association using data by Statistics Korea, the employment rate of increase by medicine manufacturing firms reached 3.9 percent between 2005 and 2015, a 2.4fold higher than other manufacturers of 1.6 percent. It is also above the industry’s total annual average of 2.6 percent in the cited period.

The association explained that while the increase in output by the pharmaceutical companies remained below that of other manufacturers, they were more aggressive in hiring more workers.

Nine out of 10 employees in the medicine manufacturing sector were regular workers.
