Hyundai Motor has received more than 10,000 orders for its first subcompact SUV since its launch last month, the carmaker said on July 28.
Given the pace of sales, the carmaker is expected to achieve this year‘s sales target of 26,000 units.
Hyundai Motor launched the Kona subcompact SUV on June 13 to bolster its SUV lineup amid growing demand for small recreational vehicles.
The Kona comes with a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine or a 1.6-liter diesel engine. The crossovers are mated with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
It sells at 19 million (US$16,800) to 27 million won in the domestic market.
