SK Telecom said on Aug. 22 that it joined forces with Starbucks Korea to allow users of its artificial intelligence device NUGU to order drinks.
Under the agreement, SK Telecom plans to connect NUGU to Starbuck’s order application, allowing users to order and make payments more easily.
SK Telecom and Starbucks Korea plan to complete the development by the end of the year.
First released in September last year, NUGU focuses on providing household-related services.
The mobile carrier also plans to connect NUGU to its driving-navigation platform T-map, allowing drivers to order drinks and locate the nearest drive-thru Starbucks shops. If the development is completed, drivers will be able to safely order drinks without having to tap their smartphones.
