[THE INVESTOR] The white suit brand that First Lady Kim Jung-sook often wears at public events sold out online on Oct. 12, after a social media post by the presidential office.

In response to criticism over the alleged extravagance of the first lady, Cheong Wa Dae revealed details of her outfits and shopping style on social media.

The post dismissed rumors by emphasizing that Kim’s wardrobe is mostly 10 years old and she often mends her own clothes.

Right after the post, online users found that the brand was available on CJ’s online shopping mall and the entire range sold out immediately.

The suit, consisting of a jacket and pants -- costing 100,000 won (US$88) -- was part of a special collection that CJ sells in a licensing deal with New York-based designer Vera Wang.

CJ acquired the licensing rights in 2015, the first for an Asian company.
