[THE INVESTOR] Hyosung Group Chairman Cho Hyun-joon attended Intertextile Shanghai 2017, the world’s largest textile exhibition, to meet and woo global customers, the company reported on Oct. 17.

For this year’s exhibition, Hyosung set up the largest booth with 18 of its client companies by providing consulting and supporting sales activities. In addition, the company hosted a dinner to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its spandex production.

Cho also met with representatives of textile companies leading the Chinese market -- estimated to be worth around US$430 billion -- to discuss joint marketing plans for functional fabrics.

“Customers and employees are the starting point of product development and quality innovation. We will try our utmost to mutually grow with our customers all over the world,” said Cho at the exhibition.

Hyosung started mass production of spandex in 1998, and became the global industry leader in 2010.

The company has more than 100 global production and sales networks in 30 countries. It has been focusing on the Chinese market since the late 1990s, and established production facilities in China this year.
