[THE INVESTOR] US software firm Adobe Systems introduced updates to its cloud-based graphic design applications and new services in Korea on Oct. 25.

Traditional Adobe apps, such as Photoshop and Premiere, have been updated with new features, such as support for virtual reality content, while new cloud-based apps, including Adobe XD CC for UX/UI prototyping, Adobe Dimension CC for 3-D composing, were among the suite of the new Adobe apps showcased to the Korean media in Seoul on the day.

The press meeting was held to offer a glimpse of the new features of the Adobe apps after the firm’s annual launch event MAX Creativity Conference in Las Vegas held last week.

“The new updates and apps will help designers to reach their full creative potential regardless of their capabilities to handle graphic tools,” said Eric Choi, chief of Adobe Korea.

“Adobe will continue to work to nurture an ecosystem for seasoned designers, as well as the general users, to create graphic content in a convenient manner,” he added.

The new Adobe apps will be supported by the firm’s machine learning solution Adobe Sensei, which was previously available in a beta test. The AI solution can be used to identify types of fonts, and to find images and graphics available on Adobe Stock, a platform that offers photos and illustrations.

Adobe also introduced the cloud version of desktop photo editing application Lightroom CC, which succeeds the previous version, Lightroom Classic. Adobe Korea said the desktop app for photo editing will not be obsolete anytime soon, and will continue to receive updates.
