[THE INVESTOR] Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction said on Nov. 21 that a consortium that includes it has signed a temporary deal to build a power plant in South Africa.

In a regulatory filing, Doosan Heavy said the deal worth 1.15 trillion won (US$1.05 billion) will be officially signed in May next year.

The consortium, which also includes the state-run Korea Electric Power Corp., will build the coal-powered power plant.

Doosan Heavy will provide gas turbines and boilers for the project, it added.
