[THE INVESTOR] SsangYong Motor said on Dec. 1 its sales fell 12 percent in November from a year earlier.

The carmaker sold 12,082 vehicles in November, down from 13,728 units a year earlier, the company said in a statement.

A 22 percent on-year decline in exports weighed on the monthly sales results, the statement said.

Domestic sales declined 7.5 percent to 8,769 units last month from 9,475 units a year earlier. Exports dropped to 3,313 cars from 4,253, the statement said.

To revive sales, SsangYong Motor has launched the flagship G4 Rexton SUV in Europe and other markets since September. It expects the large SUV to help revive sluggish exports.

In the January-November period, the maker of the Rexton and Tivoli SUVs sold a combined 129,477 cars, down 6.9 percent from 139,139 a year earlier, it said.
