[THE INVESTOR] Kia Motors said on Dec. 1 its vehicle sales dropped 14.7 percent in November from a year earlier on weaker overseas demand.
The country’s second-largest carmaker by sales sold 259,643 vehicles in November, down from 304,507 units a year earlier, Kia Motors said in a statement.
“Lower demand in some markets amid an economic slowdown had an impact on the company’s overall sales numbers last month,” the statement said.
Domestic sales rose 0.2 percent on-year to 49,027 units in November from 48,906. And overseas sales were off 17.6 percent to 210,016 from 255,601 over the same period, it said.
In the January-November period, Kia’s sales were down 7.8 percent to 2.5 million autos from 2.7 million in the same period the previous year.
