[THE INVESTOR] SK C&C announced on Dec. 11 that it will develop an artificial intelligence robot in cooperation with Amway Korea that will be operated at the Amway Brand Experience center in Bundang, southern Seoul, in March 2018.

The robot under development utilizes the dialogue and image recognition function of SK’s AI service Aibril, which is based on IBM’s Watson, to provide information of its product line. Autonomous driving function is also in the works to serve as a guide for customers to locate stores. RoboCare, a domestic robot manufacturer, is expected to be in charge of building the robot.

“RoboCare, plans to develop the robot based on Silbot which has user tracking and collision avoiding function. Beginning with this project, we plan to actively advance into the domestic robot market,” said an SK C&C official.
