[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Electronics said on Dec. 20 it will introduce a new sound bar at next month’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The sound bar, named the NW700, is optimized for wall-mounted TVs by being significantly slimmer than existing products, said Samsung.

The Korean tech giant said the 53.5-millimeter-thin sound bar can adjust audio for different settings from sports and music to movies.

Despite the slim design, the company said the sound bar is equipped with seven speakers, including four woofers.

Samsung expressed hope that the new sound bar will continue to grab consumers’ attention, noting it has been standing as the No. 1 player in the global sound bar market for nine consecutive years.
