[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics on Dec. 28 provided details of audio products, including artificial intelligence speakers, jointly developed with British-based partner Meridian Audio and which will be officially showcased next year.

The Korean tech giant said it will display sound bars, portable speakers and AI audio products at the CES 2018, slated for January in Las Vegas. LG said the products will combine high-end technologies from the two companies to deliver optimized audio experiences for users.

Meridian has a reputation for successfully combining analog and digital audio technologies, LG said, claiming such capabilities have helped the firms to develop their new competitive audio products for homes.

The devices set to be showcased at the CES include the LG ThinQ speaker, LG’s first speaker to adopt Google’s voice recognition system, Google Assistant. Through Meridian‘s technologies, LG said the speaker is capable of enhancing sound qualities.

LG said the AI speaker will be sold in the US market.

The tech giant will also introduce three different portable speakers equipped with long-lasting batteries. Among the three, LG said the PK7 speaker will be able to play music for 20 hours.

The new sound bar products will support the Dolby Atmos system, which will deliver vivid and realistic sound to users, it added.
