[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Asset Management increased its share of the local market for exchange-traded funds last year, data showed on Jan. 10.
Samsung Asset Management’s ETFs accounted for 53 percent of all ETFs worth 35.6 trillion won (US$33.20 billion) at the end of last year, according to the data by the Korea Exchange.
Samsung Asset Management’s share of the local ETF market stood at 50.2 percent in 2016 and 50.1 percent in 2015.
Second-ranked Mirae Asset Global Investments saw its share of the local ETF market slightly rise to 22.7 percent last year.
KB Asset Management also saw its share of the market edge up to 8.4 percent last year, according to the data.
