[THE INVESTIR] Cafe24, Korea’s leading e-commerce platform operator, on Jan. 17 signed a memorandum of understanding with social network giant Facebook to link their platforms in their latest marketing push.

The latest partnership comes before Cafe24’s planned KOSDAQ debut later this month.

Cafe24 CEO Lee Jae-suk

Cafe24, which provides platforms for 1.5 million shopping malls to go global, will offer its extensive database, while Facebook, the world’s largest advertising platform, will share its marketing expertise targeting a whopping 2.07 billion monthly active users.

“Big data has become more and more important for successful online marketing due to the ever-changing e-commerce market and consumer trends,” said Cafe24 CEO Lee Jae-suk. “We expect great synergies between the two firms.”
